These are “opportunity” funds, which allow the ETF board and staff to make strategic grants when an opportunity presents itself that can benefit East Tennessee
Provide competitive scholarship programs for students to obtain post-secondary education
Offer donors the most flexibility and personal involvement in grant making
Support a competitive grantmaking process in broad charitable areas (e.g., arts and culture, women and children)
Field-of-interest funds designated to benefit a specific county or geographic area
Endowment funds established to benefit a donor’s favorite charities
Established by nonprofit organizations to supply them with ongoing support, security, and stability.
