John D. Grubb and Louise G. Sumner Fund for Monroe County Scholarship Program
Purpose and History
Originally established in 1999 by John Grubb and Louise Sumner to provide scholarships to Hiwassee students and Hiwassee graduates going on to a 4-year college or university. The scholarship has been expanded to include any Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accredited public or private, non-profit college or university in Tennessee.
Scholarship Amount
$2,500 per year award for four years
Eligibility
Residency Requirement: Monroe County
Education Requirement: Graduates of a Monroe County High School, graduating seniors, or current college students
Field of Study: Not Applicable
GPA Minimum: 2.5
College/Enrollment Requirement: Full-time enrollment at Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accredited public or private, not-for-profit college or university in Tennessee
