Second Presbyterian Church, Knoxville, 200th Anniversary Scholarship Fund

Purpose and History

Established in 2017 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Knoxville’s Second Presbyterian Church and the longtime commitment of the church to education. The scholarship provides assistance to students attending Maryville College or the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Scholarship Amount

$3,500 one-time award for one year

Eligibility

  • Education Requirement: Rising college sophomores, juniors, and seniors
  • Field of Study: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree
  • Enrollment Requirement: Full-time enrollment
  • College/University: Maryville College or the University of Tennessee, Knoxville
  • Financial Need: Not required but may be considered in the selection process
  • Additional Requirements: Essay describing volunteer work in applicant’s faith community or general community service

NOTE: Students may reapply for subsequent years.
